OMG Hallowe'en candy!!

There's going to be none left for the kids!!!! I shouldn't have opened the box.

Technically, I shouldn't have bought it so early, or gotten all my favourite kinds.  And I guess it doesn't help that I was a candy addict before getting pg.

Re: OMG Hallowe'en candy!!

  • DH and I are the same way when there is candy in the house.  In order to make sure I didn't eat it all before trick or treating on Sunday evening I am not buying my candy until Sunday AM.  Any left over I plan to bring to the office and put it on the community table in the break room.

  • the way we deal with it at our house is that we buy candy that i love (one bag) and then a few bags of candy that i really dont care for ...that way, i still munch on the stuff i like..until its gone and i wont touch the other icky candy...then again, when we go shopping i get more of the candy i love, so i guess that doesnt work so well :)

  • I would be the same way. We decided it best not to buy any candy until Sunday. Then i won't eat all of it. lol

  • Oh, you mean the half eaten bag of Reese's and Kit Kats in the freezer??  LOL  We aren't even going to be home on Halloween!!  We are going to a local farm (pumpkin patch/corn maze/concert/celebration). They will have trick or treating there and a costume  contest for the kiddos.

  • I bought the fun size snickers and the minature reeses peanut butter cups.  I've been snacking on them while at work and I really need to stop.  I just can't help myself though.

  • LOL.  We live in the country and never get any kinds, but I always buy a bag, just in case.  What kind did you get?

I got the Nestle box of Smarties, Kit Kat, Coffee Crisp and Aero on sale at Zellers as well as the Starburst / Skittles combo bag.

It's not usually this bad of a problem for me. The evening of halloween, I pop a big bowl of popcorn and nibble on that all night instead of reaching for the candy. I didn't even feel tempted last night, but today I'm so hungry and am craving sweets so badly. Gotta feed this craving monster!

  • DH bought a box of candy I don't like (reeses/oh henry), and I went out last weekend and bought a box of candy I like...you know smarties, kitkat, aero and it had 62 pieces in it...I think I'm now down to only 20 pieces left Embarrassed

  • We are the same way! I opened up all the bags and put them in our Halloween serving bowls and I keep eating out of them!! (the good stuff too, all the kit kats, reeses, and almond joys are dwindling!)

  • We haven't bought any yet either but its more for DH's sake than mine. I'm all about the salty snacks most of the time.

Thought you would find this appropriate though:

  • I am so glad you posted this! I am the exact same way. I try to buy my candy late b/c I always end up eating it. But I like the really junky stuff - laffy taffy, skittles, etc. All the stuff that is crappy for you!

I can't wait til halloween is over so I can get rid of this stuff and start over on my healthy eating!!!!!

I hope my baby doesn't become a sugar addict like ME!

  • This thread is making me want candy! I bought one bag of Kit Kat snack sized and have only eaten like 3 of them, but I would eat one now if I had it. Thankfully it's safely at home, where I won't want it when the dinner time m/s kicks in. Then again- who knows!

All bets are off if we get no trick-or-treaters:-)

What an interesting article! It makes me feel less guilty for my indulgences.
