the weight limits on these things are complete and utter bs! it says 25lbs but theo is like 13 1/2 lbs and the thing barely moves. we have resorted back to using the glide motion of our swing because it's the only setting that actually moves.
we don't use the swing much anymore but aren't ready to completely get rid of it yet (can not wait since it's in my bedroom). just wondering when you all got rid of your swings.
Re: how long did you use your swing for?
Gosh, it feels like we used it for the better part of the first year.
If you have a Fisher Price swing, call their customer service. If your motor is giving out they will replace it. For free. I just called for a 2yr old swing, and they shipped me a new motor in 3 days. I am SO happy with their customer service. Anyway, just FYI.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
This. We had the FP Lamb swing and used it almost until Elizabeth turned 1. Technically she could still use it since she's only about 23 pounds! We never really used it for play/awake time, just for naps and she used to hang out in it for 10-15 minutes in the morning while DH was getting ready after I had already left.
