EZ2 Nurse pillow Question

I'm still mostly lurking, but in a lot of posts I see the recommendation to get the EZ2 Nurse pillow..i'm sorry if this is a stupid question (first time mom and having twins!)

So from what I can tell from google, the EZ2 Nurse pillow is to BF both babies at the same time...but why exactly should you be BF'ing both babies at the same time? Wouldn't it be easier to do one at a time?

TIA!

Re: EZ2 Nurse pillow Question

  • It's to help you save time--otherwise you're always feeding someone :-)
  • "Easier" one at a time?  Maybe.  Sanity-draining, time-sucking, hungry-scream-starting?  Absolutely.

You'll want to feed both at the same time if you can.  Trust me.

  • tandem feeding is the only way to go! I would loose my mind if I couldn't.

    lol exactly.

  • I have the EZ2 nurse pillow and nursing didn't work out for me, I exclusively pump now, if you want to buy it off me PM me and we can talk ;) I barely used it and it's still in the bag it came in.

  • I actually find it easier to nurse mine one at a time. I have a twin nursing pillow, I saw a LC twice for help tandem feeding, I've tried all manner of props and whatnot. And still, tandem for me is a hot mess. One baby falls off while I try to get the other one on, starts screaming, then the other falls off while I try to resolve matters with the screaming baby. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I have large, heavy breasts--things are better when I can hold my breast with one hand and manage the baby with the other. Since I don't have four hands, I'm better off feeding one at a time, especially since I'm lucky enough to have two babies who nurse quickly (10 minutes per baby tops, including burping).

I'm in the minority though. Most twin moms rave about the twin nursing pillows, and, if you want to give breastfeeding a good go, it's worth the purchase. But I'd recommend buying used.

  • Yes, it is way easier to feed babies one at a time.   But if you have slow eaters, who take 45min to eat, and the babies want to eat every 1.5-2 hours which is common in the early weeks, you would be feeding babies nearly every second of the day.   Tandem feeding is such a time saver.
