I was wondering how things were going with your MIL after the showdown, if you want to call it that, between her and DH.  Is she still ignoring you?

She finally started talking to DH after 4 days of silence and several attempts at an "apology" from FIL. Basically, DH's response was don't apologize, just promise to never do it again. She acted like nothing happened which leads me to believe (1) she doesn't think she did anything wrong and (2) she'll do it again. I'm so not looking forward to their next visit. Thanks for asking.

BOH: long story short, we went out to eat with the ILs and she kept giving E bread after I repeatedly asked her not to so he'd eat his lunch. She ignored, E didn't eat. Then she wanted to feed him a bowl of ice cream. I said no, he didn't eat any lunch, I didn't want him filled up on junk. She proceeded to feed him said ice cream, while steam began to pour out of my ears. If I weren't concerned about making a scene, I would have grabbed the spoon from her and whacked her with it. DH had it out with her in the car on the way home, she left our house crying immediately after because it was her "right" as a grandma to do whatever she wanted with those babies. OH HELLZ NO! Voila, MIL silence for 4 days. It was a great 4 days.

That must have been a nice 4 days.  And yes, I am sure she'll continue they way she was.  Maybe next time you'll get a week of silence from her.
