I wanted to wish you good vibes for your DD's u/s. I hope everything is okay. Could you tell me more about the sacral dimple tests? I am now worried sick....None of the doctors that evaluated her ever mentioned that this divot at the top of Asha's rear could signal any kind of problem (you can't see her dimple until you separate her butt cheeks, it is right in the crack about 1.5-2 cm above the anus. It is small and very deep. We tried to see the base of it today and couldn't so we don't know how far down it extends). My guess is that they never checked for it or saw it.

We discovered she had this dimple there when we were bathing/changing her but didn't realize it might be a birth defect - she had the genetic screens done including the one for neural tube defects and everything came back essentially negative....she also had multiple u/s in-utero starting at 21 wks by two different MFMs and no one mentioned anything to us about spinal/kidney defects so it never occurred to us...

Would these type of defects even show up on a fetal ultrasound? She did have a large bruise in this area which is getting better but there is still a small bruised area....could this signal a problem?

Ugh - I am so freaked out and will be calling pedi tomorrow....I just wish she didn't have to deal with this stuff -
