19 month old climbling out of crib

Our 19 month old is trying to climb out of the crib! I've done a little research and was going to get a crib tent but read that one baby hung himself! Does anyone have any advice on either crib tents or when you switched your LO to a toddler bed?

I'd probably switch to a toddler bed.

Our DD was starting to try to climb out around 20 months.  We switched her to a twin bed against the wall with railings.  We thought the transition would be tough, so we kept the crib ready for her just in case.  She loved it though!  She calls herself a big girl now, and can get in and out safely.  She usually waits for us in the morning still to come and get her before she climbs out, but we do have her room very child proofed just in case.

we moved our dd when she was 20 months old just because she was banging around her in her crib alot. we did the same thing as the previous poster - put her in a twin bed pressed up against the wall (on the floor) with the side rails. she never gets out when she wakes up - she just calls MAMA, MAMA

i love laying with her reading books at night too
