....per a FB "friend" who is advocating that no one get a flu shot for their child. To each their own....if you have researched and have concrete reasons you don't want to do it, fine with me. Its the trying to influence others with your nonsense reasoning that gets me. She is going to pump her baby full of Vitamin D instead b/c you get the flu during months when the sun isnt out, so it is probably a Vitamin D deficiency that causes flu.

What the?? Ugh lat yr I did not get it and got sick in March, DD did get it and did not get sick. Who knows anymore?

Vitamin D is a great suppliment for winter times and vitamin b3 does indeed fight the flu and build up your immunities against it. However being preachy sucks always. I avoid these debates all the time for that reason. People can choose what they want for their own kids without someone else coming down on them.

Oh, there are so many benefits to Vitamin D, especially in winter. A lot of people get I think seasonal affective disorder it's called? This chick is an authority on everything and it cracks me up. I remember she did CIO at three weeks leaving him in his room by himself, but now is very passionate about co-sleeping...WTF? All over the place. I dont think she does vaccines or uses tylenol, etc., only herbal things. Again, it is her choice. It is just annoying she is sooo know it all and never has any real research to back it up, just her opinion.

This kind of crap gets me a bit fired up.  Some people can be such friggin 'idiots.  Everyone is obviously allowed to do whatever they feel is right for their own kids, but be truly educated before you decide what is right.  Vitamins can help the strengthen the immune system to fight infection, but the flu is a virus.  To protect against it, you need antibodies for that virus.  Do these idiots (sorry) think that taking vitamins will prevent MMR, polio, Hep B, etc.?  Ughhhh!!!!!!

Vitamin D stores in fat, so it is possible to have too much of it.  Just a heads up for those of you thinking of pumping your little ones full of it.
