Sorry couldn't find the main post for UO Thurs if there even was one?

I hate when brides and grooms smash wedding cake into each others' faces on their wedding day.  I don't know if anyone will agree with me on this but I just think it looks trashy/stupid and is so overused now it's kind of corny.

I've always hated that, but I'll admit it was really hard to resist the urge to do the same thing at my own wedding.

I agree.  One of my girlfriends got married Feb. 09 and she did NOT want to do the "smash cake in face" thing.  Well - she didn't...but he sure did.  He got her good too!  She was PISSED!

I hate it, too. DH and I agreed in advance not to do it.

Hate it and we didn't do it.  We didn't actually do pics of us cutting the cake...only pretending to.  So, there was no potential for cake-in-face anyway.

With my luck, cake would've been up my nose and all over my hair.  I wouldn't care to spend a chunk of my reception cleaning myself up.

LOL I'm pretty sure my mom threatened my DH with physical harm if he did this.

I don't understand it and I hate when guests try to encourage it.

I'm the same way! I hate it! I would be pissed if my husband had! A wedding such a beautiful thing that it seems childish to me to smash cake on your loved ones face.
