I can't believe it. I never thought that we'd be paci free so soon. I am not opposed to them and wouldn't mind letting DS have it until 2 or so, but today we did away with it.
He has been throwing it out of his crib everytime he goes down for a nap and in the mornings, he will talk with it in, and he is fine when I take it out. I usually leave it in the crib, but if I don't and we are down stairs, I can take it out of his mouth and he won't care about it all day. The only time he wants it (or so I think) is nap time or nighttime, but he continually plays the "I throw, you come get it" game, which I don't do! So, when it came time for his second nap, I cut the paci tip and he looked at it funny when he put it into his mouth. He didn't even suck on it before taking it out. He did it a couple of times, handed it to me and I offered it a few more times. He refused it and wouldn't take it, so I said that it was broken. He said "broken, garbage" and I said "yes, we'll throw it into the garbage". We walked over to the garbage, he threw it in, waved bye and went down for his nap...went down great for nighttime!!
YAY! It works out well since the girls don't take a pacifier and he won't try to take theirs that isn't "broken!"
Re: AW: We are now pacifier free!!!
I hope DD doesn't start again when the new baby is born... the other day at a playdate she stole her friends paci and attempted to put it in her mouth even though she's been off it a few weeks
