Anyone have their child in a montessori school/daycare?

Please explain to me how it differs from the traditional child care?

  • We're considering it for preschool.

I found the IMC website helpful: linky.

  • the term montessori can be used for a center as long as 5% of what they do is. you should check out the school and see what they think it means.

on the extreme end, everything is very sensory, self learning, no music...

most have deviated from this since the technique was originally used for special need kids.

some kids thrive in taht type of school others don't.

take your LO to visit, find out what they do and how they do it and make sure you visit the older rooms to see the progress.

I hope that helps, i was a teacher and each school i ever went to did things differently
