Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

usually how long between teeth?

DS still only has his 2 bottom teeth.  He has had them since MAY!  Since then, he has not shown one sign of teething again.  Everybody that sees that he only has 2 teeth and is almost 1, is in shock.  I know a 9 month old IRL that has 8 teeth already!  I guess he is just a late teether?  How long was it between teeth for your LO?  is it possible for them to get multiple teeth at once?

Re: usually how long between teeth?

  • It took B a little while to get some in, then he had his front bottom two for awhile alone. Then his top two front came in, almost immediately followed by the next two top teeth. He had those six for what felt like forever (definitely at least four or five months) and then all of a sudden he had two upper molars coming in (they just fully came in), the next two bottom fronts came through at the same time, his bottom 1st-year molars are starting to break through, and the last two non-molar uppers are also breaking through right now.

So he currently has 10 teeth out, and another four coming through. The last two non-molar bottoms are puffy as well, so I'm betting they'll be breaking through within a month. Definitely possible to get multiples at once ... and let me tell you, super fun! :/

  • I asked this same question a little over a month ago. DD only had her 2 bottom teeth after she turned 1. She's now 13.5 months and already got one top tooth and 6 others are cutting through as we speak. So yes, multiple teeth can come thru at once. It's like tooth-a-palooza now - and boy is it tons of fun!
