Re: Pregnant (& TTC) After Preemie Check-In!

  • No updates here, DD's sick, so I've been spending most of my time holding her (her fever got up to 103.9 last night!!!). Took my last Provera on Monday night and meds are being delivered on Friday, so now I'm just waiting for AF to show up and get this show on the road :)

  • I'm just waiting to O and to have my 7dpo progesterone test. Even with supplements my temp isn't staying elevated and the more I read the more I'm wondering if I'm not having a very strong ovulation so we're doing further testing to see what is going on.

I'm working on not being so jealous. I feel like EVERYONE I know is either having #2 or announcing that they are expecting and it's getting me down. I really need to work on realizing that our time will come and it will work out. Not so easy.

  • ijack - are you doing any treatments other than progesterone? i know when we were TTC on our own (before going back to the RE), i had a short LP. the RE suggested that even though i was ovulating on my own, it probably wasn't a "good" ovulation and that's why we weren't conceiving. maybe some clomid or femara would help strengthen it? good luck!

i'm hanging in there. still feel yucky a lot of the time, but the zofran helps a little and it's almost over. t minus 1 week and 3 days until 13w......

in very exciting news - i had an u/s at 11w and the placenta is at the top of the uterus, which means no placenta previa for me this time around!!!!!!!!!!! i'm in this pregnancy for the long haul and couldn't be happier. Party!!!

  • I finally have a date to meet with my high risk OB who will be seeing me through the remainder of my pregnancy, and am glad to be seeing someone who is used to my level of anxiety.

I also found out that I've got an anterior placenta this time- the muffled kicks aren't going to make me feel any better, nor is the upped odds that I will have back labor again this time.

Good luck with your testing! I hope you get some answers.

I'm just hanging in! Pregnancy seems to last forever when you actually make it to full term! Not that that is a complaint b/c I am enjoying this extra time, but I am getting antsy to meet this LO! My c-section is next Tuesday, in 6 days!!!!!!

  • Well Thursday I had bad back pain which spread to lower abdominal pain. My bp went up, and I called my OB. He sent me to L&D. Long story short, I have a bacterial infection that he said can lead to PTL and PPROM. (Makes me wonder if that's what happened with dd?)

Anyway, I'm on meds, and I still feel like a truck hit me. by 10am my back is killing me, I still have the lower abdominal cramps but they aren't as bad as Thursday, and I am sick of lying on my left side. But ya do what ya gotta do, right? I just hope this passes. I am napping 2x a day (as soon as dd goes down I lie down) and I am barely getting through the day.

  • I passed my three hour GTT! (Failed the one hour). I'm going in today for a growth ultrasound. Time is flying!

Right now no - we started with the protocol that got me PG with DD. Last time we did one month of clomid which was HORRIBLE and then stopped that and I got PG on our second month of progesterone. However I was starting to wonder if I'm having an issue with ovulation; my temp jump isn't very high, my symptoms are pretty spread out and I've been reading up on it and came to the same conclusion. I plan to talk to my doc about it after my dpo blood draw.

Congrats on no previa this time!!

  • Nothing new here.  Still have the appt with the OB next month to get my Femara so we can start our first cycle in December.  I can't believe we're getting so close!  Praying for a fall 2011 baby.

On a non-related note, DS started a new daycare this week.  So that's what's been REALLY going on with us :)  Being pg again will be so different from the first time b/c I'll be way too busy to be consumed by it.

Sick babies are no fun. :(  I hope she gets better soon.

And yay for meds!  C'mon AF!!!!

  • Thanks for the congrats!  We are excited to be pregnant with #2.  My symptoms are pretty much nonexistent, and that puts me in the "Oh, I hope there's nothing wrong camp."  But, I'm thankful that I get a few more weeks of "normalcy" before I get sick.

Anyone have any ideas on how we can announce the pregnancy at Thanksgiving?  Both of our families will all be here, so it seems the perfect time.

Also, girls waiting to talk to their docs or waiting on BW...Good luck!

  • Everything is good here. My cervix is nice & long...way longer than the 3.5 they were looking for on the 20wk u/s. I've been pretty relaxed this whole pregnancy but the closer I get to viability the more nervous I'm getting...like I could go anytime now. And of course I'm playing the mind games like "DS came in 8 weeks" and then I freak out b/c there is still SO much we have to get ready.

Thanks, I think AF is here today (I've had REALLY light bleeding after non-medicated cycles lately, so I'm not sure if this is spotting or the real deal), so looks like our CD3 u/s will be this weekend!

So there's this practical joke where you stuff a cornish hen inside the turkey and then tell everyone the turkey was pregnant...if you could work that into your pregnancy announcement, you'd be my hero. hahahahaha

  • We have decided not to TTC right now. My DH is a recovering addict and had a relapse, had been clean for over a year. So I can not even think about TTC at the moment. I have to focus on DD and my marriage. Protecting DD through this is my main concern.

Good luck to everyone! Fingers crossed and good vibes to all.

Maybe I will be back, but right now I am of the mindset of One and Done.

  • I had my FET on Wednesday. Of course Brandon got sick on Monday with a high fever and was sick the whole time I was on bedrest for the 48 hours following the transfer which didn't make things easy. My mom was here to help but I still had to get up on my feet a few times when Brandon was really miserable. I went this morning for bloodwork to check my progesterone level and it was 26.2. They want to see it at 30. So in addition to the progesterone shots that I have been taking I now need to take a progesterone suppository every morning. The doctor and embryologist said the embryo they transferred back in was a perfect embryo. I go next Friday for my bloodwork to see if I am pregnant. Trying to not get my hopes up too much but I really hope I am.
Conceived twins with IVF January 2008. Lost baby a at 20 1/2 weeks due to premature rupture of membranes and held onto baby b. Baby b (Brandon) born at 26 weeks and 1 day on July 5, 2008.
