Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Moms of girls, a question for you.

Have you cut your DD's bangs? Audra's are getting really long, and so far I've just been pulling them to the side and pinning them back, but I'm starting to wonder if it would just be easier to cut them.

Would you cut them yourself? I've trimmed the back of her hair, but I'm nervous that I would mess up the front!

Re: Moms of girls, a question for you.

  • I haven't cut them, because I don't want her to have bangs. We do the ole ponytail on top of the head. Pic in siggy. Her hair is a little "fuller" now than it was in this picture, so it looks a lot cuter.

We do the same thing. I'm determined to grow her bangs out. At this age it will be so much easier than when she's a bit older and she can always cut bangs later on if she wants them.

  • I've had her hair cut, but have left the bangs alone.

I really don't want her to have bangs either, but I have a hard time getting her to sit still long enough for ponytails. It's been a few weeks since I last tried though, so maybe I'll give it another shot.

  • Not cutting bangs because I don't want to cut her hair yet.

I've been doing pigtails or pulling them to the side.

  • Look at my child.  She had a full head of hair when she popped out of me.  It did nto fall out. And she refuses to keep barrettes or rubber bands in.

So we cut the very short pixie bangs when she was 12 mo, and have cut her hair short, four times.

I WISH I could go the no bangs route, but it doesnt work in my life.

  • I've cut Katie's 4 times so far.  She just has to be preoccupied with something.
  • I have been cutting all 3 of our younger kids' hair since their first hair cuts!   If you think they're too long, I say go for it!  The nice thing about hair is it grows back if you screw it up!

  • I have a hard time getting V to hold still for anything.  I don't want to even imagine what her bangs would look like if I tried to cut them!  I just use a hair clip to keep the hair out of her eyes.  I want to put her hair in a cute ponytail, but she won't let me.

  • No cutting yet. I'm letting Alannah rock the baby mullet. And doing tiny piggies a lot, too!
