Extened rear-facing carseat question

Do you tilt the carseat back (not the child carseat, I mean the seat that comes with the car) so that your LO has more legroom and can see a little better out the back window?

  • I haven't, but I've never read that that is dangerous to do-I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. I'm no expert though.

  • ours don't tilt. the only issue i could see is maybe that the bottom of the car seat/area near their feet would not be as snug against the seat? not sure.
  • Our back seats can't be tilted, so I guess we don't have a choice, but she can look out the side window just fine.

Good point.  I just tried it and if I made the convertible seat snug against the back of the car seat by pulling the seatbelt latches tight, it puts the convertible seat tilted too far forward which won't be as comfortable for DS especially if he falls asleep in the car...I want him reclined back as far as possible so his head doesn't hang when he sleeps!
