How long did it take to go away? I am being induced on Monday and am in agony with hand pain... How soon after delivery should I expect my hands to feel better? Thanks.
Immediately after delivery, the worst of the pain and numbness went away. I had been sleeping with wrist braces every night, and I put them away that night. But I had three fingers on each hand that stayed numb for 8 weeks after delivery. I ended up going to a physical therapist for it, and all residual numbness was gone by 5-6 months after my son was born.

Took about a month or so for feeding the babies to not feel pretty uncomfortable & then all the symptoms were pretty much gone by 8 weeks. However, I still get some numbness/tingling in the thumb & first 2 fingers if I have my wrist in a 'bad' position for awhile, like while driving long distances, pushing the stroller for awhile, arm bent under my head while sleeping, etc...
the intense pain went away about 2 weeks ago. My hands are tingly though like they are waking up from being asleep, except it doesnt go away. Im just BARELY getting feeling back though. They were compltely numb and I couldnt even open a gallon of milk.
Mine took FOREVER to go away. But I wasn't wearing the braces regularly and should have. I think it stopped when DD was 5 months old. Wearing the braces at night helped and pilates was a lifesaver.
I got cortizone shots in one hand at about 32 weeks and that helped with both hands. But it took about 3 months for most of the swelling to go down and things to be totally better.

This. I did get a massage and told the woman that I had CT during pregnancy and she worked on my hands and arms quite a bit. That was the end of it.
