My DS is not a fan of the swing or bouncy seat so I end up carrying him around a lot. He loves to be moving around. I know he is young, but am I spoiling him? I don't really know what else to do.
You can't spoil a newborn! I carry my LO everywhere, also- we are doing a sort-of attachment parenting style, and she is HEAVENLY all day. She doesn't cry because shes so happy to be with us!
Your goal is to make your baby happy, so I'd say do whatever makes him happy at this point! Have you looked into wraps, slings, carriers, etc... to make your life a little easier and hands-free? If you're concerned about weaning him off of being carried all the time- they usually are a bit clingier but they definitely figure it out and find their own way. I wouldn't worry too much! You're just doing what you can and being the best mom you can be!
I could have written this post! DD loves napping in my arms, but put her down in the PnP or swing, and BAM! She is not happy. I just tried putting her down for her AM nap, so we will see how it goes. It will get better with time. I know I will miss holding her when she is more independent. I actually purchased this book and am waiting for it to come. Hopefully it will provide some good tips. Good luck.
Nope. I pretty much wear DD #2 constantly. I did the same thing with DD #1 ... it's what made her happy. She's a perfectly happy, well adjusted, independent and non-spoiled almost 3 y/o now, so I couldn't have messed her up too badly.
Enjoy it while you can - before you know it they're toddlers who are too busy to enjoy cuddling with you!
no. we have lots of days like that with our LO. Sometimes I put him in a wrap or carrier and he likes it and other times he wants the real thing. He hated his swing at first and now loves it so keep trying...he still dislikes the bouncer though. The Happiest Baby on the Block book calls the first 3 months the 4th trimester. It recommends creating an environment for the baby close to the womb and you cannot spoil the baby.
Not at all. DD is the same way. She will try out her swing or bouncer for a few minutes and then she is done! She will cry until you pick her up and carry her around and then she is happy as can be. It can be exhausting, but it is what she needs, so I'm happy to give it!

Sigh.
It is NOT possible to spoil a newborn.
Now if you were saying that you couldn't put down a 1yr old I would have a different answer for you.

Meh, even then.. no biggie, IMO. Jude was a total "carry me!" baby until he was about a year and a half (and he walked early!)
