Trying to Get Pregnant

7dpo progesterone levels 3.4 - what does it mean?

I got my 7dpo progesterone levels back. It was 3.4. On the sheet the normal range for luteal phase is 1.7 -27. I am in that range but seems on the low end.

I did call my OB but havent heard back yet.

Im confused!

  • I am no means a dr, but what I have read, they would like it min. at 10.  At 7dpo your prog. should be at its highest.  Hope you get some answers soon and a plan so you can get your BFP.

  • I also don't have direct experience with this but I do have a friend who had low progesterone in her LP. Her doctor wanted to see her levels between at least 10 and 15 on 7 DPO.

  • I just got mine back last week and it seemed low too (4.7). I won't be able to discuss it with the dr until 11/4. However, mine was done at 12dpo- the nurse thought that would be ok. I guess we'll find out!

  • At 7DPO it should be between 10-15. My doc said he likes to see at least 15 to sustain a pregnancy. At 3.4, you probably ovulated (I'd have to look at your chart) but you may not have had a strong ovulation. These have been my numbers: 2.7, 7.5, 18.5 (yay), 1.9 (anovulatory).

  • You are probably ovulating but at 7 DPO you level should be at least 10. My nurse said I more than likely ovulated; because if I didn't ovulate my number would have been less than 1.  Mine was at 5.4

I am guessing your ovulation isn't as strong as it should be, similar to my problem.  I think it can be fixed pretty easily though.  keep us updated once you hear back from your Dr!

  • Kell, in a non-medicated cycle they want the progesterone to be 10 or above at 7 dpo.  I would ask for progesterone supplements.

Don't be too hard on yourself.  If you get answers you will get a plan to make it right and get moving to make a baby.  That is a great step!

I just got my progesterone levels back at 3.4 10dpo.  They put me on progesterone because I didn't want to wait another month just to see what the levels would be because they didn't do it 7dpo.  I don't know if I could be pregnant but I will see this week.  I am hoping to have a better chance to get pregnant next month because my level was only 3.4.  I don't know what to think.

  • I saw the OP's screen name and about shit my pants thinking she was back.  And then I saw the date on this thread.  Thanks, @sjaos.
