BC Poll (clicky)

It's been quite a while since I have taken birth control. I used the patch for a long time, but it irritated my skin. I'm not really good at remembering to take a pill, and would probably forget to take it at the same time everyday.

But reading about Seasonique kind of intrigued me. I think not having to worry about your period would be nice. I'm in between that and the copper implant (because I don't have to think about it).

  • SS:  Condoms and/or charting.  We may TTC in September.  So starting BC soon then coming off of it 3 months before TTC doesn't seem worth going on it at all.

Plus, I'm getting too old for HBC :(

  • Condoms. I'm BFing and do not trust the mini pill to protect me.

    All of this, exactly.

  • Condoms and charting.

Side note:  My SIL got pregnant on the mini-pill, while breastfeeding, and using a condom.  Yikes.

  • Condoms and charting.  We are planning on TTC in July so I don't want to mess with BC plus I'm BF

  • Depo shot for all the reasons you mentioned. My mw wasn't too keen on an IUD since we want to TTC within the next few years.

  • Why copper?  I think Mirena is a better "compromise" between the 2 you mentioned...lighter or no period but not having to worry about a daily pill.  I got mine in today, and it didn't hurt at all.  I was pleasantly surprised...just a little cramping tonight, but I had honestly expected much worse.

  • I had Mirena after DD#1

This time we're just going to use condoms and charting for awhile. DH is going to tech school for military early next year for 4 months so there isn't a huge window between when I'll get my "all clear" for sex again and him leaving. I really want a chance to get my body back to normal, I gained a bunch of weight after I had the Mirena inserted last time and I'm afraid it'll happen again this time too.

  • We will likely be charting and using condoms. My cycle never returned to normal after over a year off the mini pill before conceiving. I don't want to mess with hormonal bc again.
