I'm interested in who dream feeds at night and has success. I am considering waking up DS for one at night but am nervous he won't go back to sleep and it will backfire at me. What has worked with you and your LO's?

I always thought a dream feed was meant to be given while the baby was still "asleep"? Obviously, not totally asleep, but to the point that they have their eyes closed and aren't actively awake (crying, cooing, eyes open). Maybe I'm wrong.

Usually, if LO wakes up hungry in the night she will be back asleep before she's done with her bottle. My ped told me not to wake LO @ night, to let her wake me up if she's hungry. She does about 2xs during the night time. I wouldn't feed LO if he/she didn't wake up on his/her own.
I don't wake him up for feedings, but at least one of his 2-3 feedings at night are technically dream feeds. I feed and change him and he never opens his eyes and goes back down pretty fast
I dreamfed DS everynight at 10:30pm until he was 2.5 months. Then I stopped because he was STTN (that only lasted for another month- now he wakes a bunch). I would just quietly take him out of the crib, breast or bottle feed him and put him back down. He wouldn't wake but would eat efficiently. I think it depends on the child. DS was always the type to fall asleep at the breast/bottle so even if he woke up when I took him out of the crib, he'd quickly fall back to sleep.

we started dream feeding dd a few weeks ago. she gets 2 oz of formula just before we go to bed, usually around 10 or 1030. I wake her only enough so she doesn't choke and she usually goes back down with no problems. before we stared she was usually waking up around 2am and 5am, now she will usually sleep until 430 or 5am.
