Babies: 0 - 3 Months

formula question

Question for those of you that feed formula. We're transitioning to FF only, and currently giving him Enfamil Newborn and once that sample can is gone, we'll be using Enfamil Infant. He seems to spit up alot, but he would also spit when getting breastmilk only. Is this just a normal thing, that babies spit up a lot, or should we look at a gentler formula? I'm thinking the Gentleease Enfamil is supposed to be for that, right?

Re: formula question

  • We use Good Start Gentle Plus.  It's easier on their stomach and cheaper than the Gentleease.  I have never seen a baby spit up so little as my LO does.  The doctor switched us from Enfamil to Good Start due to not being able to digest the other.  Good luck.

  • I think every LO is diff. When I EBF for a month my LO didnt spit up and when I switched to formula LO was constipated and didnt spit up I had to find the right kind for him to get comy and that was with Gerber Good Start Gentle Plus

  • We do gentle ease, but LO still spits up. Also, there is Enfamil AR which is mixed with a little rice cereal and that is specifically for spit up. I heard that putting a little rice cereal (or oatmeal) OR putting a little extra formula in the bottle to thicken it can help too. But, depending on how much spit up, it could be totally normal. You should probably ask your doctor...
