Success after IF

Does your toddler wake up on the wrong side of the crib/bed?

I'm telling you, Nicholas is giving me a run for my money these past few weeks.   No naps and waking up crying in the morning

Every morning he used to wake up all happy and in a good mood.   I would just hear him chit chatting away in his crib.

Sheesh, lately he has woken up by crying- but as soon as I or DH go in the room he's standing up in the crib bouncing up and down like "Yay!!!  Okay I'm up!  Let's get this day started".   So it's not like he's tired still- he is ready for the day.

I just miss my Wake Up Happy Baby.   He is definitely getting his eye teeth and I am hoping that once those come in, he will be more himself  and nap and wake up in a better mood in the morning.

So, anyone else's baby/toddler go from waking up all happy and chattering away to crying upon wake up?

PS- this may totally be out of left field, but do you think this has anything to do with me weaning him from the Paci 2 weeks ago?   Should I give it back (I'm thinking no, since I'd be back at square one again and have to get rid of it again).  He totally sleeps fine w/o it (knock wood).

  • It could just be a phase. The twins each did this at different times. I would not give them paci back. I found when this happened with my kids either they were going through a growth spurt or more teeth. Right now the twins are getting their 2nd year molars and brady 1st year molars so we are all so happy here (UGH)!
