I go to court soon because I did not want to agree to the $50 dollars a month when the court is will to give his son $240 a month. When I go to this court hearing is that when I ask for help with daycare and medical insurance?

Child support lady is not very helpful.

I'm assuming you were never married to him because if you were, that's something that would go in the D papers.

Otherwise, yes when you go to court, that's the time to request help with daycare and medical insurance.

You may need to also present how much everything costs, just so they have it in writing.  Definitely get as much as they will award to you.  $50 a month will not cover half of daycare and health insurance costs I am sure.

Bring receipts or statements from the daycare about how much everything costs.  AND bring in your 6 months of pay stubs and your last year's income tax forms. AND if you have reciepts of medical costs over your insurance and copays bring copies of that too.

 

And PP, not every state puts CS and Custody Orders in the divorce papers.  In PA, it is all separate.

Here in MN it's separate as well...

Ditto what sweetie and achase said. I didn't realize (until I got to court and the judge asked for it) that I needed to provide a written out list of what my monthly expenses are (even if they're something that you pay towards a family member - I have a loan from my grandma and I had to include that...)

Thank you so much ladies, we were never married. I already had the daycare papers but I'll get everything else in order.
