I love the name Liam but I am starting to hear it more and more. My girlfriend told me that there are three boy named Liam in her sons preschool class.
It's extremely popular in Canada -- it's the #2 name in like 5 or 6 of the provinces here, it's nuts!
Meanwhile, in the States it's still in the 50's or something. I think it depends on where you live. You could look up your name list by State to give you a good idea (https://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/state/index.html).
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

i'm only aware of one kid named liam in my area (i'm not around kids that much, though), however, based on the bump/the nest, liam seems to be quite popular.
If this baby is a boy, he'll be William, nickname Liam. I don't know a single Liam in real life, but it seems popular on here. It won't stop me from using it though.

I say as a stand alone name it is gaining popularity.
As a nn for William, I don't think so.
I love it even if it is getting popular! Liam is a great name.
