sleeping positions

My DD loves to sleep on her stomach. She almost always falls asleep on my chest this way. I'm having a really hard time getting her to sleep on her back or side in the crib. She is sleeping right now on her stomach in her crib for the first time, and it's been about 1 1/2 hrs. Does anyone else do this at night? I know we are not suppose to let them, but it's getting really old being up most of the night comforting her. Lately she and I have been sleeping on the couch together, so that I get a little sleep.

Re: sleeping positions

  • I'm wondering if its sleeping on her belly or sleeping on you that she prefers. . .  How does she do on her back or side with you in bed?

  • thats the only way my son sleeps longer than 30 min, if i lay him on his back he's up every hour but i can put him on his belly and he sleeps 4-5 hours. im a light sleeper so i make sure i can still hear im, when i put him down i make sure his nose isnt in the mattress and then go do what i need, he makes noises about every 30 min and if he is quiet igo check on him, so far so good hahah.
  • Same here, i finally gave in and let him tummy sleep. We hae an angel care monitor that alerts us via beeping if iy detects no movement i.e no breathing........so i feel better having this and his tummy sleping
