I'm having a heck of a time with my LO liking slings/carriers. I have a Baby K'tan that she will tolerate only if she's sleeping, but it kills my back so I've stopped using it. I bought a Ergo this weekend and have tried a few times puttiner her in that, but she screams her head of the whole time. I think part of the issue is the infant insert is so warm, but I tried it (briefly) without the insert and she still screams. We didn't by an infant carseat, went right to the convertible, so that isn't an option for me. My husband has to travel for work, so I'm at a loss of what I can do if I need to run to the grocery store while he's gone. Any thoughts? Is it possible that she'll outgrow not liking them? TIA!
Re: Anyone else's LO NOT like slings/carriers?
I've tried a ton of different carriers and LO hates them all.
I'm hoping once I can carry her facing out she'll like it more.
I have the infant carrier car seat, so I just take that with me when I'm shopping with her.
sigh. Maybe I just suck at carriers but DD hates the moby wrap, the balboa sling, and the seven slings one. I refuse to buy anymore!
A friend lent me her baby bjorn and she's okay in it but it KILLS my back. We went to the museum the other day and I couldn't handle it for more than an hour. Then my back hurt all night long. and DD is only between 11-14 lbs I think right now.
I just about give up.

I'm using the cradle now since DD can't hold her head up by herself yet. I'm hoping when she can hold her head up, I can try some of the other holds that keep her arms/legs free.
I'm about to give up too! I've heard the bjorn is bad for babies hips/back, which is why I got the Ergo. It's amazingly comfortable, I hardly realize she's in there, aside from the screaming! DD is 11lbs too. You might try the Ergo, at least see if you can try it on in the store with LO to see if she'll tolerate it.
As my LO grows, she tolerates being worn differently than before. She still won't do the Beco, but likes the Bjorn (we have the Bjorn active, which is much nicer on your back because it has lumbar support) and she's kind of in between holds on the Moby.
One suggestion is if she's screaming when you put her in the wrap, either head outside, turn on the vacuum, or turn on a blow dryer. This is what I had to do every time in the beginning to calm LO down. She might even sometimes fuss now, but after I walk for a minute or two she calms down (or even falls asleep).
Remember, just because she doesn't like something this week doesn't mean she won't love it next week! These kids are constantly growing and developing!
