Spit up

My LO lately has been spitting up only after his night time feeding before bed. I feed him, burp him and then rock him to sleep. While I am rocking him he will almost choke and then I prop him up and he spits up clear fluid with a little bit of white stuff which I am assuming is BM. Last night it about about 3 teaspoons. Is this normal? Do you think that I need to burp him more or keep him upright longer? Should I be concerned? He will occasionally spit up here and there after other feedings but never that much and never with the choking or gagging reflex.

Re: Spit up

  • Spitting up is normal as long as your LO is gaining weight just fine and he is not hurting because of it.  Try to keep him upright a bit longer and see if that helps (or feeding him a bit less to see if that helps).  DS had acid reflux, but he spit up all the time and woudl cry all the time in pain because of it.  Hang in there.
