I agree!  I have not watched it tonight but I have it on and have been listing to it.   Like when they were talking about the new wife having every 4th night before marriage and sex.  No way would I be able to talk about that.  I would be beating some a$s.  lol

I just watched the first episode tonight because my neighbor mentioned it to me. It seemed very odd to me. I'm not jealous, but I'm not sure I'd dig having all those women (and children!) in my house. I like kids but not THAT much!

I know they teach you to share when you're little... but I think I skipped that day in kindergarten... This lady doesn't share her man. Lol

There are just some things you don't share.  Your husband should be one of those.  I just don't understand being okay with that.  I know that is how some of them grew up, but really?  What about the ones who didn't grow up that way?  What made them decide on this lifestyle?

To me it's just gross, he's having unprotected sex with 4 different women on a regular basis, that's nasty.  And how come it's only ever okay for a dude to have multiple wives, and not okay for a wife to have multiple husbands?  Not that I'd want that, but it's the principle.  It didn't even sound like they were all 100% okay with him adding another wife, but he just did it anyway...nice.

I just watched part of the first epsiode with DH, and I told him that there is nooo way that I could share him and only sleep with him every third night! I would be soo jealous!

I read a news article today saying the show was being cancelled because that family is now under investigation. Apparently Utah has very strict rules against polygamy (sp?). So they are looking into all of his "marriages".

He makes me sick. The women are just as bad in my opinion. And those poor children!

a Utah prosecutor was on the Today Show and said that they usually don't prosecute these kinds of cases.  Especially since he's only technically married to one of the woman....but still ick.

According to what I have read, the show is definately not being cancelled and TLC is standing behind the family (mostly because they know they are going to have huge ratings with this show). There is really nothing Utah can do about this situation being he is only legally married to one of these women,p.

I must say, other than sharing my husband with other women (which I would never EVER want to do) I can see the appeal.  It must be nice to have those close "sisterly" relationships (this is coming from someone without a sister though) and large family.

I guess I just feel bad for these women. Do they not feel that they deserve someone that will love them and only them? What does he say as his reason/ belief to pursuing other women? There'd be nothing that would be a good enough reason for me. And does he marry them so he can have sex with them? (I don't watch the show so I have no clue...)

Putting it on tv...I feel like these kids could have lived their lives and made peace or not with the decisions of their parents in private. Now they'll have to do it in the public eye. I think it's a bad choice on the 5 parents part. But, I guess you need a tv show to pay for all those kids! And I also wonder what the father of the 4th wife's kids thinks? Is he just okay with his children being brought into a polygamist family? I have questions, but I don't think I'll watch the show. Guess I'll just find out bits here and there, lol

She said her previous mate was a polygamist too but never took another wife so i guess they are used to  it. Sad
