Never Going to Kiddie Kandids Again

So when my DD was one week old we took her to Kiddie Kandids in BRU. We just wanted to get a few shots to remember her at that small age, nothing fancy. So they always have the coupons, $7.99 for One pose or 20%off your total purchase. So we just purchased the $7.99 package and another extra sheet of pictures for $10 dollars. Easy, simple.

We go back for her three month pictures, again just to capture the milestone. The photographer was a different girl, but very nice. When we went to pick out what pictures we want she says, "Okay i'm going to start you with our most expensive package."  I tell her well I'm pretty sure you can just cut right to the basic because we only want a few. She then tells me that she needs to go through all of them because she is training a new girl. Okay, whatever.

There are about 6-7 packages she is going through, and about 2 in, the trainee is called away by the manager. So it was pointless. And of course my DH and I end up just wanting the basic package, with the 20% off it comes out to $80.

 THE PART THAT PISSED ME OFF....

Before we finalize the deal I say, "Last time we just got the 7.99 deal, can we just do that with this pose?" and I point to the pose we really like. She says," Well that deal is for the VERY FIRST POSE TAKEN" What the what???? Excuse me? "That wasn't the case the last time we were here, we chose which picture with wanted." She goes on to say, "Sorry I'm just following our restrictions?" I look and read out loud the coupon, "Offer applys to ONE Pose, ONE person, (blah blah) Where exactly does it state is has to be the FIRST pose??" Well that's under "Restrictions Apply" OH BOY 

 My DH said I had a look in my eyes like I was going to hurt someone. But she was very nice the whole time taking the pictures I held my composure, so I just told DH we will get the pics this time, but I will never go back. And of course I would share my story to everyone.  So be careful is you choose to take your pictures at Kiddie Kandids. BTW in what world would a newborn/infant/child look good in the First pose they take?????

UM you need to call her bluff, that is a lie- ask to talk to her manager. She doesnt make money if you don't order a package.

I used to work at a studio like that, so I understand her having to go through all the packages, we would get chewed out by our managers if we didn't explain them all, even if the customer knew what they wanted, also we did not work on commision,

that being said, this whole "first pose only" is utter crap, If i had the stones to, i would've yelled @ someone.

I would also call the manager,  I went to kiddie kandids and got the 7.99 package and it was not on his first pose, it was just on one pose.  If you dont want to call the manager I'm sure there is a customer service number for the company I would call them and complain, hey you might get something free out of it.

firstly let me say i agree with you lol.

but i used to work at sears portrait, and it actually used to be very common for some stores to instill the 7.99 goes for the first pose. and they do it bc of why you stated, what kid is going to look great in the first pose when they are just getting warmed up. its a gimic so you spend more, its dumb, i know sears did away with it after many complaints. but thats mainly why i quit, loved taking the pictures but hated being pushed to try and force ppl to spend a ton, and when they didnt id get lectured!

They said there is no policy of just the first pose, and they are going to send me and apology letter and compensation.
