Sick and Mothering?

I am getting sick. How do you handle the babies when you are sick? I am going to feel so bad if I get her sick, but obviously I still need to feed her and take care of her.

Re: Sick and Mothering?

  • What kind of sick are you talking about?

  • It was unavoidable for me. I got sick, and so did DS. I just ate lots of vitamin c - oranges, orange juice etc.. and soup. Took my vitamins, gave him his vitamins and hoped with BF I would pass that vitamin c boost onto him. We were sick for about 5 days and today we seem to be a lot better. Poor li'l guy could hardly breathe out of his nose in the mornings I felt so bad for him, but like I said today was much better thankfully.

  • Mothers have the incredible ability to find the energy to care for our LO's, even when sick.

Dealing with a LO with a cold isn't bad...but a stomach flu is haaaard...especially when the child you're mothering is sick too.

Get your rest, stay hydrated, eat well. Oh, and ask for help if you can.

  • I've had a cold for a week and LO is getting sick now too, all congested. It's really not that awful other than feeling bad for passing the cold onto the kid.
