anyone NOT taking a pre baby class of any kind?

I kinda, Ok I did procrastinate in registering for pre-baby classes and now it it slim pickings.  Am i going to be the only 8month one along in class?

  So I'm think how bad can it be if I dont take a class and just read up on it. even though Im leaning towards a class thats two sundays four hrs each.  With out DH cause he will be working

my schedule is too packed to fit in a class unless i found one that was at like 8pm on fridays - those dont exist obviously. So my SO and i found a class on hypnobirthing that we would have liked to take and we just bought the text book they use which came with a cd to practice along with. we will be making our own classes that fit into our busy schedules.

I was on the fence, but can't now that I'm not allowed to sit up at all.

My doctor and nurses are amazing though, so I think I'll be good.  You should totally take one though if you have the option--even without your DH.  I'm sure you could learn from it and maybe even meet a mom who will have a baby at the same time, new friends were a big draw to the classes for me.  I know, that sounds lame.

I am not taking a class. I was going to and then my hospital stopped offering one. They had an online class, but I'm not going to pay money for a class where I don't get to ask any questions I have, etc! I'm just asking other mommy friends what I need to know....

I wont be taking any. Honestly woman have been giving birth for years without having classes to take and they were just fine. Not to mention I went with one of my friends a couple times while her H was gone and I learned nothing that I couldn't find out from my doctor

I never did it with DD. Even my MW's said if we didn't want to not to b/c she would coach us through everything...had a c-section anyway, so glad I didn't waste the time!

I am not taking one.  My Doc said the classes at my local hospital were not that good, and we could just talk at our appts.  I did take several pre-natal and infant development classes in college though, and work with lots of new moms.  I think I will just ask around and read on here.

my hospital offers tons of free classes, so I *should* take at least one.. but at this point I haven't signed up for any (still haven't even toured the hospital ) but I might still sign up for one, depending on when they're available.  I'm okay with not taking one, though, everything I hear about them says they're actually more important for husbands/support persons than the mother to be...

I'm not taking one, I've been debating, but I don't think they are going to be that helpful. I may take a breastfeeding class though.

A co-worker is a Dula and during my lunch breaks I flip through her books...

Another friend gave me the book they hand out and I've read that every which way 5 times over...

My only real concern was about breastfeeding and apparently they don't really cover it at all...so I've been researching it on my own!!

I am taking classes, but I just wanted to say that I doubt you would be the only 8 months pregnant one in class.  I went to a newborn care class at my ped's office last week and every one else was 8+ months pregnant.  And I went to a CPR class last night and at least one lady was 8 months pregnant.

I am not taking any. I decided it wasn't worth the money. Plus I didn't want to hear propaganda about formula being poison and doctors being out to get you which is what I have heard happens at a lot of the classes.

Classes in our area are $300 so we took that money and invested it into a doula. 

Women have been doing this for years without a class, and frankly I feel like the less I know the better.
