nothing makes her happy, except holding her. I have a 21 month old that wakes up super early, so I cannot possibly stay up after midnight each night. I don't know what to do. She used to put herself to sleep, and we vowed we were going to keep doing that and not create bad habits but i don't know what to do. I can't let her lay in her bed and bawl. Anyone else experience this? what worked for you?
DD #1 was so high needs and I cannot possibly handle that again, so I don't want to go down the same road of having to rock her to sleep, to cosleep, etc etc etc
Any advice would be appreciated. I've tried reflux meds, gas drops, her swing, boppy, laying on her tummy....
Re: fussy every evening for 5 hours
I really like Happiest Baby on the Block. Good techniques that work in seconds for soothing babies. Also, he makes you feel better about having a fussy baby. I only have one, she's only been home for 2 1/2 months so I am no expert, but it is possible that you will just have to ride it out.
BTW My DD had to grow into her swing. She used to hate it and now it totally calms her. The reflux meds helped her sleep because she was waking up crying and puking and now she doesn't but it took a couple of weeks to work.
could it be an intolerance to something? DD did the same thing until i cut all dairy out of my diet.
if she is on formula, maybe she needs a hypoallergenic/different one. if on breastmilk, maybe something in your diet is bothering her? dairy is the biggest culprit.
