Since this is CLEARLY a competition, how have your appointments been going? Are you opting for the weekly cervical check at this point? Are you ready for baby (no need for my procrastinating @ss to answer this one)?

Heck no! My crib got recalled, the PNP got recalled and my changing table was attached to the crib. I did finally get my money back from Baby Depot and I bought a new crib and changing table, but they are still in boxes in the garage. Maybe I will talk DH into carrying them into the house this weekend so I can at least put the changing table together. I also have a mini-PNP to use as a bassinet, so I may get that together. I need to clean the corner of my room where it will go though. After DD was moved to her room, it has become a collection area of odds and ends. LOL. I am glad I am not alone in the procrastination department.
Oh, this is most certainly a competition. If one of you has a baby before me I will be pissed
Weekly appointments are going well and I am getting cervical checks. I am currently 2cm and 30% effaced, Dr. Fesenmeir said "you won't be going into labor this week" to which I promptly said "You're not the boss of me!". At least he laughed :0) I then reminded him that I will be walking a 5k while pushing DD on Saturday...I am really hoping this gets things moving a bit.
I am mostly ready. Nursery done and clothes washed. NB cloth diapers are out (OMG they are sooo small), I do not have a hospital bag packed and I really want to deep clean my house one more time.....but whatever.
Lyons - let's hear it. Progress? If you are more than 2cm I am not your friend anymore.

I am ticked that she didn't tell me about the dilation and if I was effaced. She threw me so much when she ordered the u/s that I completely forgot to ask too.
I have a few outfits, but I haven't washed them yet. I did buy some NB diapers but need to get some size 1.
Oh, I really should think about packing my hospital bag too. We shall see....
Weekly (and optional cervical checks) began last week. Last Tues, I was 1cm and soft but 0% effaced. Today, I am 2cm and 50% effaced. Sue didn't make any guesses as to when I might go; but I asked her to tell me that he'll hang out for a little while longer. I still have so much to do!
Cooley - you'll love this one...I was setting up my appt for next week, at the front desk, and Dr. Fesenmeir walked up. Without thinking, I blurted out - "Oh, my mom friends rave about you!" He looked up from his smart pad, blinked, and I realized that he probably thought I was the craziest person on the planet. I tried to further explain - "Your name comes up on the message boards all the time. Your patients love you!" He responded - "I think I'm glad that I have no idea what that means; but thank you for the compliment."

Hahaha, I love that we all assume people should know about message boards and TheBump. What's funny is that he does sort of have the personality of a door knob sometimes, but a good guy and a great doctor I think. As, I was reading I kept expecting you to say that you name dropped and told him how much I liked him...in which case he would think I am crazier than he already does. I hate that he told me I wasn't going into labor soon only because he was RIGHT ON when he predicted Charlotte, Grr.
No, but don't think I didn't think about doing it...just to validate my assertion and so he didn't think I was seriously out of my mind crazy (well, any more than he probably already did). Whoops...and I definitely meant that it was Dr. Fleming that I was talking to at the desk. I always get them mixed up (by name but not by face).
Oh, Fleming. He is my #1 favorite, but for some reason I always end up with Fesenmeier for my last few appointments. Either way - as long as I don't end with Pierson I'll be thrilled :0)
Uh oh! Who's Pierson? I just found out that the OB's are helping with the midwives' rounds at the hospital, since they have yet to replace Sue Comte. That said, good chance one of the OB's will deliver for me.
Pierson is a gem. She gets a score of 1 for personality and bedside manner. I feel like an educated pregnant woman - I don't ask dumb questions. I had her for ONE appointment this time aroound and started to aske her a question about flu shots and she totally cut me off and said "Yes, get a flu shot. Any other questions?" I almost smacked the biotch because my question was about how the flu shot would protect my newborn. When I asked the actual question she said "I don't know, ask your pediatrician". I was seeing red.
In any case, I refuse to set appointments with her anymore and just hope she isn't around when I'm in the hospital. I have heard similar stories about her from others. She's all business. I'm sure she's a fine doctor but I like a little personality.
I don't like her either! I only saw her once. It was around the holidays and I was like 5 months pregnant. I had gained like 8 pounds that month. In addition to all the holiday food I was just hungry all.the.time. I had only gained like 3lbs in the whole pregnancy prior to that so it wasn't like I was gaining all this weight month after month. We were discussing my weight gain and she looks at me and says (a bit snottily if you ask me) "Well, if you take in more calories than you burn you're going to gain weight." No! Seriously?? I had no idea that's how these things work! She should really write a weight loss book. I really wanted to smack a biotch. Anyway, thankfully I never saw her again after that because I was not a fan.
