Did you automatically get a cathader ( spelling sorry im dumb today ) ? If so what is that like ? Its one of those small stupid things I worry about . When did they take it out ??
i got one for my urine and my bleeding after baby and while the tubes got in the way they didnt really hurt at all.it only hurt a tiny teensy bit when they took it out but compared to childbirth its cake
yup, because once you get the epi, you are confined to the bed. At least I was. I wasn't able to move anything below my belly button. They took the catheter out right when I started pushing.
They put it in about ten minutes after delivery and took it out about thirty minutes later. I could start to feel my legs again shortly after deliver, only semi-numb.
I didn't notice anything when it was inserted or when it was removed, which was about 6 hours after delivery (after my Pitocin bag emptied out- I think).

Sorta. They in and out catheterized me every four hours while I had the epi. Meaning they put a small catheter and emptied my bladder then removed the catheter. I could not feel it when they did this.
If they noticed my bladder was full they put in a catheter and emptied it. They did this twice after I had my epi (took about a minute each time). I never felt a thing and there were no side effects or after-effects.

This exactly. I was able to move my legs and feel everything by the time I was pushing...but it did dull the pain quite a bit. I got up to go to the bathroom about an hour after I had DD.

Yes. I couldn't walk. But omg I felt so much better after 14 hours of labor without the epi. They took it out during the delivery. But they had to put in another later bc I still couldn't use my bladder muscles. The one they put in after did hurt a little, and was very uncomfortable... They didn't take it out until my second night.
Nope! They emptied my bladder a few times for me with the cath but it didnt have to stay in.
This. But when they decided to section me I got one that stayed in until the next day. Didn't feel it go in and coming out just felt weird...nothing bad.

Yes, I had two. One for my epi for vaginal delivery. My hospital policy is that once you start to push, they take it out. Fast forward 2.5 hrs when I needed a c-section, I got another cath Yes I felt them but it was minimal. The last cath was taken out when I got up on my feet about 4 or 5 hrs after my c-section.

I personally liked having a catheter. I didn't have to worry about one more thing for a day! Mine was taken out the next day (I was emergency c-section) and then I had to be re-catheterized because of bladder spasms. I was re-cathed without any pain meds and it wasn't bad at all...just a pinch. Focus on why you're going through it all, and it will seem like NOTHING! I even took walks with my catheter in after I got re-cathed.
Don't worry!! Just remember you're doing all of this for your LO!
I never had one at all. They said I might need to, but they checked me a few times to see if I was full and I never was. And I was able to get up and go a few hours after LO was born.
I didn't have one. They said they would empty my bladder when it was full, but I started pushing an hour after the epi was put in and DD was born 25 minutes later. So, needless to say, it never got to that point.
they put it in about every hour. they didnt leave it in there for me. and i didnt feel a think they actually had a nurse that was training pratice checking the dialation and everything on me (i gave them the ok) because it didnt hurt at all
When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile

Strange, I had an epi and didn't have a catheter at all. I could still move my legs, and I was able to walk a little after delivery. But there was no mention of catheters/bladder issues at all.

Ya. They put it in after you get the epi so you don't really feel it. I had a c-section and had to have general anesthesia so I had to keep mine in for 2 1/2 days.
Re: If you had an epi ???
Yes, because you can't feel your legs or stomach. I couldn't have walked if I wanted to. You can't feel the catheter at all.
They took it out the next day because I had to stay on a Mag drip for my Blood Pressure

this,
Yes, you automatically have to get one.
It didn't hurt at all. They put it in after I had gotten the epi, so I was already numb. They took it out before I started pushing.

That's what they did at my hospital as well.
This.
This!

Good luck.
Yes, I automatically got one. It was totally fine -- couldn't have cared less, just wanted it to work.
They took it out well after delivery. They had just turned off the meds.
I hated that farking catheter. I could feel it and it was uncomfortable. They didn't take it out when I started pushing.
Fark, I get angry just thinking about it.
this.
Yes. I had it until I left pretty much, 3 days later. Had terrible bleeding.
It hurt when they took it out because I didn't have any pain killer then.
