BC pill question-stopping early?

my family went away last weekend, Friday through Tuesday.  I forgot to pack my BC pills so I went friday-tuesday without them.  When we got home i read the pack, but it only had how to take missed pills if you have missed one or two, doesn't say anything after that, so I stopped and figured I'd wait till my next cycle and start a new pack.  I'm not due to start my cycle until the 27th, but since I stopped taking the pills so early, will that cause my cycle to start early?  I'm having some spotting now, but am assuming that's because the BC is out of my system? Anyone ever have this happen before?
