So I find that when I put DD in her carseat to either go somewhere or just go for a stroll in the driveway, she passes out, and stays napping even once the carseat is back in the house. I usually just leave her be and let her finish napping in the seat. Does anyone else have a LO who naps in their carseat? DH laughs when he comes home from work and sees her in the carseat napping away. Hey, if it is working, why move her, right? Haha.
Re: anyone have a LO who naps in carseat?
Betsy always napped in her carseat before we got the swing, and--I've been flamed for this before--she slept in her carseat, in her crib, until she was 3 months old. She was STTN in it by 6 weeks.
When she was teeny I'd put her carseat in the snap-n-go and just wheel her around the house with me while she napped, so I could get things done.
Ohh!! That's a good idea! I might have to invest in a snap and go!
I have heard of many people doing the carseat in the crib tactic for night sleeping. How did she do transitioning out of the carseat? Was it difficult?
Makaia loves her carseat, I like to change up her location in the house and its just very convienient, she has a swing but I dont like to leave her in it constantly, she likes to look around. I dont think theres anything wrong with napping in the carseat. Whatever works for you I think is what matters.

We've had a tough five weeks or so, but I think that's mainly been due to the dreaded four month wakeful period. She stopped STTN a few days before we transitioned her from the carseat, at about 13 weeks. I figured that since she was being wakeful anyway, I might as well go ahead and get her out of the carseat. So we had a rough time for awhile, but I *think* all is well now. She STTN for the first time in five weeks night before last, and only woke up once last night. Yay!
But like I said, I've been flamed for the carseat thing. There are studies that it hampers airflow because of the way the baby is positioned. But it's the same position as, say, a RNP, whihc a ton of people on TB use. So talk to your pedi and make your own decisions about this, just like you would about bumpers, sleep positioners, etc. Our pedi was fine with it.
