We're surrounded by people who made the decision based on "everybody does it" or "the AMA and WHO say you should" (neither is true). We wanted other info, though, 'cause I was against it and DH was for it because of "tradition," and also because we're obnoxious like that, so we went to the internet. This website is totally open about its persuasive desires, but presents many cases for intact genitals in a clear and accessible way.

Then, when MH was at a "daddyology" class in June or July (before we found out Bugbear's sex), they were talking about it. One of the men there had chosen circumcision later in life, and described the difference in his sexual pleasure as "like going from a 50" plasma screen to the black and white bunny ear tv my dad grew up with," which was enough for MH to go "okay, this is one of the many decisions we're going to let this kid make for itself if it turns out to be relevant," so that was our decision.

One of my ex's wasn't, and he was totally embarrassed by it.  He would roll the skin back in the shower in gym class, etc.  His mom's dr. didn't believe in doing it.

The medical community doesn't "officially" recommend for or against circumcision although peer-reviewed studies have more often come down on "pro" side. This article from the American Academy of Pediatrics might be helpful as a relatively unbiased summary of the evidenced-based literature that is out there and does a pretty good job of outlining the benefits and risks...
