Babies: 0 - 3 Months

How many hours should lo be sleeping at 11 weeks?

Dd will be 3 months old soon and for the past week she has been napping less during the day.  But yesterday  she woke up at 10am and napped around 2pm for like 30 min only  and was wide awake to eat again and after that she was awake for several more hours and then napped for 30 min and up again.  SHe was very happy during the day but towards the evening was really tired but didnt want to be put down and would fall asleep in my arms.  SHe finally went to bed at 9:30p, amd woke up at 10 am this morning.

Today she is doing the same thing, she's been up since 10 and its' 12noon and is wide awake.               Is this normal?      How many hours should she be sleeping total?

  • I dont' know about total but AJ takes around 30 min mid morning.  An hour around noon and about another 30 min mid afternoon.  Lately he has been sleeping from 8:30 pm - 6 am (when I have to wake him to get ready to go to the sitter).

  • oh ok.  I"m just so used to her being awake for 1 hour after she eats then she will nap for like 2 hours sometimes 3 .
  • They start staying awake longer.  I know when AJ first started I was worried that he wasn't getting enough sleep but he hasn't been fussy and it's turned into a new schedule so I think it's fine.
