Re: Pregnant (& TTC) After Preemie Check-in!
We had a rough weekend with a 4 car accident that sent me and DD to the ER to get checked out - everyone is okay, though, praise God!! I'm on a z-pack for a sinus infection as well and finally starting to feel some relief today!
I keep forgetting I'm pregnant until I get kicked and pummelled - is this normal with the second when you're running after a toddler? lol.
Hope everyone's weeks are uneventful and relaxing!
Oh my gosh, how scary!!!! Glad you guys are OK!
take all the time you need shannon, you've been through a lot. IF brings out the irrational thoughts in all of us. you were lucky to get pregnant the first time out of the gate, but that doesn't take away from the loss you experienced. big, big hugs!!
all is going well. still feeling icky, but that's to be expected. my belly is already getting bigger (at 10 weeks!) and my regular pants don't fit anymore. we've been telling more people and it's definitely starting to feel more real. i have an u/s on thurs and one on monday.
Hi all, about the only thing I have to report is my OB and primary doc are at odds with each other right now. Primary doc wants me on bp meds, OB doesn't think we should start them yet. I'm hovering around 140/mid 80s, so nothing compared to when I was pregnant with Olivia. I'll keep everyone posted :-)
GL to everyone TTC and pg!
Need help with high fat food ideas? Chunky Monkey
I guess the only update with me is that we have a specific start date on the books. We will begin our first cycle in December, most likely with the help of Femara. I have an appt next month with the OB to make sure everything is a go and the specifics of how I'll be monitored and treated with #2.
We are honestly ready to start now, but we have a big group vacation planned with friends in June and knew my luck I'd get pg right away and wouldn't be able to go. I feel paranoid, cuz who knows how long it will take and I could only be so lucky to get pg so quickly, but the realistic side of me just couldn't take the chance. But I am sure I wouldn't be allowed to travel that late into my pg. So December it is and I just pray the Femara works quickly again.
Things are ok here. The Zofran Pump seems to be working some but I'm still really low on my weight. I've lost 19% of my body weight so I have a ton of weight to gain. I started off really skinny to begin with and I don't gain weight easily, at all. It's a struggle.
My BP was a bit higher at my last appointment but I'm hoping it is just stress.
Everything else is fine.
have an awful cold. which is worse b/c i can't take anything and m/s is still hanging around. Had another dr. appointment and got to hear the hb again. everything looks good.
We have started telling people and mostly have not been getting good reactions from them. I understand their concern but we're happy so would it kill them to be happy too. How bad is it to just call people and tell them after we've had the baby.
Yes! I feel the same way!
Now I need to vent a little:
I've hit the first real rough patch of this pregnancy. I failed my one hour GTT. I have to go in tomorrow for the three hour. I'm pretty certain I have GD because I am hungry constantly, tired constantly, thirsty constantly, and peeing constantly. And to top it all off, I have a UTI. So tonight I have to fast, including no water, and I have a UTI. Should be awesome. I am not happy. So I guess I will find out more tomorrow with the 3 hour test and a urine culture. I just want to feel better.
Good luck to everyone TTC. I know it can be a long and stressful road.
I'm doing ok. Still having lots of bhs, so I have another cervical check next week. My dr has talked about putting me on procardia at 24 weeks, so I guess we'll need to discuss this further next week.
I really wish my girl bits new how to work right.
Hi Ladies- I'd love to join the list. I've been posting a lot on the April boards and usually just poke in here to lurk.
I had DD at 34 weeks due to pPROM. We're now expecting number 2 on April 14th. So far things have been uneventful- I graduated from the RE a few weeks ago and have transferred to the only OB in the city who does high-risk pregnancies (even though they haven't officially labeled this pregnancy high-risk the OB I had last time feels more comfortable with me seeing this other doctor)
I just want to say how awesome it is to see that all the second time mamas seem held on to their babies longer the second time around. It's very encouraging to see that some of you even made it to full term. I'm hoping to keep that trend going this time around and holding out for my 38 weeker!
Hi girls! I haven't checked in for quite a while...just been crazy busy. But, I do have exciting news. I just got my BFP a few days ago. We are so excited to finally be pregnant with #2, and I've only had fleeting thoughts of "what if's" regarding prematurity. I'm sure these thoughts will grow in the coming weeks. It will be so hard to wait till 8 weeks to see the doc, but that's what I have to do. I will be sure to talk to them about the P17 shots, since the MFM I met with in January suggested we do that this time around. I just hope this is a sticky baby. I feel so blessed to finally get our second baby, but I'm also very cautious. I'm not announcing this pregnancy to our families until Thanksgiving. I just feel it'll be a good time since everyone will be together at my house for that holiday. I'm only 4 weeks along, and I know anything can happen...but, I'm trying hard to be optimistic rather than worry. You girls have always been so supportive, and I really appreciate that. I promise I'll be posting more in the upcoming weeks. Things have to slow down sometime, right?
...good to be back. Nice to see all you girls.
