WHOA! Six?? Do you mean six vaccines, but maybe not six shots? My pedi office has a combo that has three in one. We split the vaccines into two sessions. Two shots at one visit and two at the next visit about two weeks later. My doctor's office wasn't against that at all and was more than willing to do whatever we wanted to.
Just had our 2 month shots yesterday. We spread them out as well, slightly different than Dr Sears but pretty close. He had two shots and one oral- pretty fussy for about 6 hours but slept fine last night. We will go back at 3 months for the other "2 month" shots. It just made me feel better to spread them out. The other thing I liked from Dr Sears was realizing the difference between brands of the same vac. So I asked my pedi for a list of who they use and checked each one out before. Luckily they were all the ones I felt safest with.
FYI, with the two shots they did them at the same time in each leg. So he only felt one double prick instead of one and then the next. I thought that was a good idea.
This. Vaccinations are important, but we weren't comfortable doing so many at once. So instead of 4 shots at 2 months, we're doing 2 at 2 months and 2 at 3 months. It's more trips to the pedi, but it's worth it for us!
