I just wanted to chime in and say hello I lurk here occasionally but mainly post on my month board.
I'm a Carroll County resident planning to become a SAHM once LO arrives. The pregnancy is going really well lately, but we had some rough times earlier on. I can't believe how quickly it's going now!
we taught Sean how to fist bump. teeheehee. its really cute. he will just put his first up in the air when he walks up to you until you do it back. then of course, he wants to do it for the next half hour.
LOL - see thread below - I started a thread to AW my daughter!
JenTim - how was Annabelle's party?
LOL Kathryn!
Annabelle's party was good. She was really fussy before the party began, but once people started to arrive, she was so good, no more crying. She let everyone hold her. She loved her cupcake. I have to get pictures online. I haven't been feeling so well at night.
No news to report on the pregnancy end. All seems well. I go on the 20th for the glucose test and then probably start up with the every two week appointments after that.
However, can't say there is all good news to share regarding DD. We were home with her for a three day weekend and she is having the worst time sleeping at night. Yesterday, we stayed home all day. She took her normal mid morning nap but would not nap at all in the afternoon. By 8:30 she was done. Unfortunately, that did not last very long. She was awake around 10:30 and didn't go back down for the night until 2:20 this morning. I have no clue how to solve this.
@mrswtobe - she may be ready to drop the morning nap; I would try moving a little later (and you will ahve to power her through it by keeping her super active at the time she normally goes down), then give her an early lunch and hopefully a nice long after lunch nap and an earlier bedtime.
DD started dropping her monring nap around 11 months and by 13 months,
Dr. appt today, baby's hb is at 155 and all sounding good. Really feeling better stomach wise, which is an incredible relief. Got the nursery set up and we are having the party where we all find out if we are team pink or team blue on Sunday, DH and I are super excited!!!
mrswtobe - After about 6 months I cried from 7:30 to 11:30 pm so no one wanted to watch me apparently, and I wasn't taking naps to give them up. Good luck on getting her on a schedule. I have no help to provide.
We moved SS into another bedroom due to the nursery. He is 6 and he has woke up crying every night that he is in there and not for the same reason. His tooth, having to go to the bathroom and he is scared b/c it is dark, etc. Don't know what is going on there because he was super excited to move into that room. He is a pretty heavy sleeper to he usually never wakes up.
My 6 month old is almost too tall for her 12 month clothing! The outfit she wore yesterday was suppossed to be pants, but they looked like capris. She isn't far off from quadrupling her birth weight.
Ped says she is healthy, so I am not worried about her weight- just my purse. I already bought a bunch of 18 month sized clothes for her for Christmas, but I am not confident that I won't have to bust them out early!
Dylan is starting to STTN again (yay!). I've decided we need to baby-proof the house quickly. He's very interested in outlets, yikes! Any time he crawls towards one, I tell him "No," turn him around & then put covers on but I need to go & put covers on them all this weekend.
Other than that, same 'ol same ol'! Scooting like crazy & loves trying to get to the dog ^_^.
She said her first word: "uh-oh." It's really cute, and she says it when she drops something, can't reach something she wants, or falls on her bum.
She also took her first steps over the weekend, and turned 11 months on Sunday. I can't believe she'll be a year old in less than a month!
And one more: Nora has become attached to her stuffed pig. We've been putting it in her crib with her when she goes to bed as a sort of transitional object (we remove it after she falls asleep), and now she looks for it as soon as she wakes up and wants to bring it to breakfast with her. MH has named it "Sir Oinksalot."
John is now at 100% normal crawling, no more hybrid army crawling, and is so much faster, yikes! Over the last 2 weeks or so we've been trying more normal foods and he LOVES pancakes and grilled cheese, I think he would eat that alone if he had a choice. He also now has 6 teeth and more are just about to poke through. We were very sad to miss Annabelles party this weekend, but he had a nasty cold and fever, which finally broke yesterday.
We should be finding out what Team we are on next week. I am thinking team pink...then today while I was at the dentist we did the "ring" test and if that is correct, it'll be a boy. I am not basing it on that though. I will wait until next week when I see for myself!!

Emily now says "G'bye Ewwa, morning" when we leave daycare - which translates into "Goodbye Ella, see you in the morning." And when we take her to bed she tells the cat "Night Diddy, morning" too. Its amazingly cute.

What's the ring test?
It's an Old Wives tale where you hang a ring on a string over your wrist or belly and if it swings left to right it is a boy, in a circular moment it is a girl.

Haven't heard that one!
My SIL & MIL did it to me when we first told everyone. She did the test twice & got boy once & girl once, lol! None of the OWT worked for me, I came out 50/50 on almost all of them.
I'm late on this...Sydney has a tooth coming in! It's one of the ones in the middle on the bottom and the one next to it is going to poke through any day now. I can't believe my 5 month old has a tooth already - I feel like she isn't old enough yet, but I know she is.
We started rice cereal this past Friday and oatmeal last night. We'll be moving on to veggies this weekend. I'm nervous about how to figure out a schedule as to when she eats and when she just has a bottle, but I'm hoping it will all work itself out.
Amelia has been eating twice a day now with a fruit and veggie and it has been going better...finally. She goes almost 4 hours now between first and second bottle of the day because daycare has gotten her into this nice rhythm of a long nap 9:45-11:30ish. She also takes another long one now from 2ish to 3:30ish. Still catnapping some around 5:30. She still wants the rest of her bottles about every three hours, and the last one she almost always will take within 2 hours of the one before.
I really wanted her to be a pumpkin for Halloween, but the cheapest costume we were able to get was a cow. I have thought about putting a sign on her saying, "Eat Mor Chikn" from Chick Fil A....lol.
