1st birthday gift ideas

DD is a December baby so I am hoping to get some ideas on gifts since we have a birthday and Xmas. We are getting her a portable DVD player for Xmas but what toys have you gotten your little ones that they really enjoy? I know she probably will get a lot from family and we don't want to get too much rather just one or two things.

Books are always a good thing. I'm trying to get Kaygan a good collection of "Little Golden Books" as I know she'll like them for years!

DS first birthday we got him a anywhere chair from PBK 

He just turned 5 & still uses the chair. 

I think that is a great gift.

The Parents Beebop band is another present he got that year that still gets use.

We got LO a RODY horse! A friend's daughter got one for her 1st bday and it's soooooo cute!
