Have you ever...

Overheard a conversation that had to do with infertility? Recently I was at the local nail salon getting a mani/pedi when I overheard the two women talking about how she didn't have kids and that she and her husband made a pact before they got married that they would not have them. Then they went on to discuss how it was unnatural for people to have ivf. Stuff along the lines that if God wanted you to progressed he would let you do it the natural way. I was so upset and wanted to make a comment but I didn't. I got the impression they just were not educated about if. I wish I had said something at the time

    That's f'ed up. I would have wanted to slap those women! Can't say I've ever had this unfortunate experience. Sorry that you did :(

    How upsetting. I'd be so pissed... but I wouldn't be the type of woman to stand up and say something.

    You have every right to be upset!  I don't know how you didn't say something, b/c I would have opened my big mouth.  Many people don't understand what IVF is all about and what causes us to have to go through it.  Poop on 'em.  She's missing out on motherhood, and we'll have an unbelievable story of endurance and hope to tell our kids.  Some people are just ignorant!

    I'm sorry,  but some people are just stupid (yes,  I said stupid)  .....I had a similar situation in the salon I work in,  one of my co-workers asked another co-worker (who is also a close friend) if I was on some kind of "heavy duty" fertility drugs,  she replied.....I am not sure,  but I know they are being proactive about having a baby,  in which she responded,  well we are trying to have a baby too (she's 40),  but I would NEVER take DRUGS to make it happen.   Fortunately she is a very good friend, and her response was...Well then you must not want it bad enough,  because if I was in the same situation I would do what ever it takes.   See,  STUPID!!!
