I've noticed a post down talking about sizes and stuff and keeping the tags, etc. Is anyone going to wash the clothes before baby gets here? I planned on it but my mom told me I'd be okay with store bought clothes. I've hit up a few garage sales and I washed those (with no question). What is everyone else doing?
Re: Washing Baby Clothes??
I'm only washing 3 months and up clothing!
The rest, I will see if DC fits, then wash just before wearing (but in my defense, I only have 1 weeks' worth of outfits in NB sizes).
I'm going to wash everything before he gets here...I don't have a lot of NB stuff and the NB clothes I do have were hand me downs from a friend.
Even with new clothes, I'm afraid someone with head lice or bed bugs has been touching them in the stores....it creeps me out so I was EVERYTHING...
Oooh, I'm going to do an UO post. I'll make an attempt to wash stuff, and probably most of it will get washed before the baby wears it,but if I need to put something on the baby, and the only thing is a new thing from a store, on it goes.
I'm sure it's fine in the grand scheme of things.
I don't have a ton of stuff yet...my baby showers on the 23rd. But I have two outfits so far, so I've washed both of those. I'm probably going to wash anything that doesn't have a gift receipt. That way if she doesn't fit stuff then I'll return what I have receipts for, and the rest I'll just wash so I have clothes ready to go for whatever size she may be. I figure the outfits I get from family/friends if I wash and they don't have a receipt with it then I can always donate it if they don't fit.
And as for anything I plan on purchasing, I'm probably going to wash my favorites of the smaller sizes so I have some outfits ready to go for her no matter whater her size is, and then wash the rest as soon as we get home.
Or I may just break down and wash everything, except for some of the NB sizes. I like to have things ready to go, so eventhough I know it makes more sense to keep the tags on stuff for returns, in my head it makes more sense to have everything ready to go for her that way it's one less thing I have to worry about.
