Sore belly (coughing injury?)

For the past week I have been sick with a nasty cold and it resulted in me coughing a lot overnight.  This morning I woke up and coughing began again (this time while standing) and I swear I ripped some muscles in my stomach.  It hurts every time I cough and I am not sure what is going on.  I wondered if anyone else experienced this oddity of pregnancy yet?  Thoughts?

I had a horrible cold too!  I was coughing so much I think I pulled some muscles in  my chest.  Today, my belly hurts when I cough....but I am thinking its just where LO is placed today!?  I am sure tomorrow ....something else will hurt!?!?!  :O)

I had bronchitis over the summer and I pulled a lot of muscles in my sides from coughing so hard. They got better once the cough went away, and my doctor just told me to take it easy for a while so they could get better. I had a cold 2 weeks ago, and some of those muscles got sore again, but after a few days of not coughing, it went away. Just take it easy and spend as much time lying down with pillows supporting your belly. Once your muscles get a chance to rest from all the coughing, they'll feel better. HTH

Yes!  I've actually been coughing for 3 weeks now; it's severe bronchitis.  The aching ribs and back muscles lasted about a week and a half, but not anymore. I think they are so used to the coughing that I don't have pain anymore!
