So DH and I just fell in love with the name Vayda Jane (pronouced vay-dah). The more common spelling is Veda but I think I lot of people would mispronounce that as vee-dah or veh-da. You could also spell it Vaeda, what do you think?
I guess, since it is SUCH a rare name, you can spell it however you want. If you want people to pronounce it correctly 100% of the time, I'd go with Vayda.
I don't think Veda would get mispronounced that often. I think Vayda and Vaeda look made up. I suppose if you really don't want to risk the chance of having to correct people you could spell it that way, but I personally would opt for Veda. Vada might be slightly better.
I believe this name was discussed a few days ago but I can't seem to find the post. The OP was using Vada and the other option was Veda. I wouldn't use Vayda, Vaida, or any other youneek spelling.
My husband and I also loved this name for our daughter but could not choose a spelling. I like it Veda but did not want her to be called Vee-dah all the time. My next choice was Vada but didn't want it pronounced like Nevada.

Really really prefer Veda.
I'm sleep deprived, so this might not make sense, but when I saw Vayda my brain thought vah-jay-jay
that, and I kinda read it with a real Southern accent 'VAY-duh"
Me too!

Sweets, I swear my heart melts EVERY time I see your signature. Your twins are SO adorable.
I agree. I'd rather correct the occasional person who mispronounces it than alter the spelling.
Veda or Vada... I'm not a fan of excessive 'y's.
I don't think anyone who has ever seen 'My Girl' would mispronounce it. I think it's a beautiful, unique name.
