Would you buy a used bassinet off Craigslist?

I'm trying to save money with the baby purchases.  Since a bassinet isn't used for very long I really would like to get one for cheap.  Do you think that a used one is safe?  I know cribs are a big no-no but I'm not sure about the bassinet?

I think a used basinet is fine.  And honestly, we didn't even buy one.  We got a pack n play and used the basinet feature next to our bed... for 5 months.

I bought a used bassinet for DS. It was one where I could take everything off and wash it so I didn't feel bad about it. He was only in it for about 5 weeks before we transitioned him to his crib so it worked just fine.

i would. like pp though, we just had a pnp with the bassinet (which we got used)... 99% of our baby stuff we got used. 

even our crib (gasp!)  i know a lot of people don't agree with that but we got a great crib for a fraction of what it would have cost new.  it had all the parts and was not recalled which is the important thing.

I would if we didn't get one. We got a hand me down. I've also heard of some people getting cribs - - I don't see the issue as long as you research the product for recalls.

Ditto.. Ours was $20 and it worked perfectly. She was only in it for 4 weeks. We even loaned it to another Bumpie.
