WWYD OR WDYT: Nursery Bedding

Background: I have been looking at nursery bedding and could not find anything that tickled my fancy or in my price range. So I made up my mind that my mom was going to make the bedding.

The colors that I wanted was something gender neutral. The colors that I set my heart on were grey and yellow.

So today at lunch I made a quick stop by the outlet by my house to look for some pants.

I found 2 pair of jeans and a shirt the pants were either to big or to small.

So I go to the back of the store where the bedding was and I found this: 4 piece set for $16.99 :  https://www3.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6E.aspx?GrpTyp=ENS&ItemID=167502f&DeptID=70676&CatID=71676&PCatID=70676&SO=0&CatSel=4294950472%7cgirls%27+crib+bedding&Ne=4294957900+5+18+8+904+949+833&pagesize=1&CatTyp=RLE&Dep=BABY&N=4294950472&Pcat=BABY&Cat=bedding&Nao=0&PSO=0&CmCatId=70676|71676

However, four yrs ago after the wedding(it was our wedding colors) I got this for $11.00 but it only had bumper pad, blanket & dust ruffle: https://www3.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6E.aspx?GrpTyp=ENS&ItemID=13328ef&DeptID=70676&CatID=71676&SO=0&SelDim=4294957900%7e&CatSel=4294950478%7cboys%27+crib+bedding&Ne=4294957900+5+18+8+904+949+833&pagesize=1&x5view=1&shopperType=G&N=4294950478&Nao=0&PSO=0&CmCatId=70676|71676

  1. Do you think they both are gender neutral?
  2. Which one do you like best?
  3. Should I just let the grey and yellow go?
  4. Any thoughts or ideas would be great

TIA

Re: WWYD OR WDYT: Nursery Bedding

  • I don't think they are gender neutral. I think the first set is too feminine and the second is a bit too masculine. They are both wonderful though (I LOVE the Delilah set). If I'm understanding correctly, you've bought them both? If so, I would keep them until you find out the gender. Once you find out, you can sell the second set since you got such wonderful prices. If you're team green, I would keep looking for something a bit more neutral. I know that probably isn't much help.

Re: the grey and yellow- The first set could fit this color scheme. Add in some grey decor and play up the yellow in the bedding.

I agree with all of this :)

    agreed!

  • The first set is very girly. I think the second set could go either way depending on how you accessorize! Very cute either way.
A small start at 2lb 9oz, 60 day NICU stay, and 6 months of O2 My 30 weeker is growing up! <a href="http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j320/bippy798/?action=view
  • The first set is very girly in my opinion, and the second seems like it could possibly go either way, though I find it a bit more boy-ish.

Where did you find such an awesome deal!?

  • I can't believe you got that first set for $16.99!!!!!! I love that set but it is very pricey to order so I am jealous. I say keep both and wait to see what the baby is cause set 1 is girly and set 2 is good for a boy. I think you could still have a chance with your grey and yellow colors with set 1 but not set 2. I wouldn't return either one though...at that price...sell it or save it for a friend:)

This! I LOVE that set. But it is too girly imo, which is why I didn't get it.

  • I agree with PP...the first set is girly and second is masculine.  You could always look on etsy for gray and yellow crib bedding that isn't gender specific.  GL!

Yep, I totally agree with all of this as well.  And BTW, I love both of those sets and they have been strong contenders both with DS and this baby!
