I sports board I lurk on lists everyone viewing the thread at the bottom of the page. I like that idea.

I don't lurk on boards that don't apply to my situation. No 1st Tri or Birthmonth anymore. But I don't respond to every post I read...if I have nothing to offer (specific questions).

No, although I am sure this will be controversial. In fact, I don't even really like the view counts. I don't really see the purpose.
I don't know how you can be expected to know if you can respond to the post or not until you read it, and I think it is ridiculous to expect people to respond to every post that they open. Some of us (ahem, ME) do have too much time on their hands, but nobody has that much. There are also many other reasons why someone would read a post and not respond (the old "if you don't have anything nice to say" theory, the boss walks in, your dog throws up, you don't know the answer, etc. etc.)
I think the view counts just cause people to get hurt feelings if they don't get responses that compare to views. We all know we are on a public board. We could find other ways to communicate if we don't want "outsiders" peering in.

I agree with PP who said that sometimes you don't have anything to say to a post. But you have to open it to read it to know whether or not you have anything to respond to...

Femera started November 2014. 3 rounds, no luck. Moving to IUI.
March 2015: IUI#1 - nope. May 2015: IUI#2 - nada.
October 2015: IUI#3 - BFP on Nov 2, 2015! *stick baby stick!*
I think it's enough to show how many people view it but don't respond. I don't really know what good it would do to see, because you probably wouldn't know the career lurkers anyway, it would just be a bunch of names.
I am definitely one of the people who opens posts paging other people I'm nosy like that when I'm bored.

I read most of the posts, but only reply if I have something to offer. Some of the threads also seem like they have some back story that I'm completely clueless about so I obviously don't reply to those because I have no clue. Also, I have been reading about the goats and drive by BFP posts, but since I'm new, I haven't seen the actual threads that the newer discussions are referring to so I have nothing to add.

Or just get rid of the damn stars like they have been talking about for what seems like forever.
This! I don't even understand the stars, what are they for?!?! And who the heck keeps starring our posts?!?! I don't get it.
