went to a babyshower on Sunday.....

It was for my husband's second cousin, she is around 40 or so and is finally pregnant with twins after years of loss and Infertility.  I was so happy to go because she is an inspiration to me and I am thrilled for her.   That was the good part.........the day started with my MIL's cousin (she's like 65) asking me how I was feeling and letting me know that she lost a FT and went on to have three children but it's going to take some time, ok fine, I thanked her for that, she is a very kind woman, next my mother in law introduces me to two different women that she knows have gone thru IVF and her introduction was something like this "Hi so and so this is my daughter in law Erica and she is going to have a baby via IVF just like you"   I wanted to die.  I felt so bad for the two separate women, one kind of smiled and said that's nice and the other you could tell didn't want to discuss it but made an awkward attempt to discuss it.  I don't think her intent was mean, however I don't think it was appropriate to bring it up at the shower........I just don't want to be put in that situation again.

    Oh, awkward.  Sounds like MIL was trying to be supportive, but time & place, dude.  :(  Glad you were able to soldier through.  ((hugs))

    Oh geez, that is awkward and sucks for everyone.  I am sorry you had to endure that.  I had one of those night recently, I was 100% mortified.
