This recession has hit us pretty hard and we are still trying to recover. We had planned on having another one when DD was around 3, but I just dont think we are there yet..financially.
I am sure we could make it work, but I dont want to be that tight. It's not fare to us or the kids. I want it to be the right time, so we can enjoy it and not stress about finances. So it looks like we will be waiting until DD is probably 4 to have another.
Is anyone else in the same boat?
Re: Is anyone waiting to have another for financial reasons?
We're waiting due to money issues, too. =( I wouldn't want to TTC right now, I'd like to wait until DS is at least 2, but we've got a lot of things to fix and I have unfortunately been out of work since February. So we have a lot of catching up to do and everything to fix our credit and whatnot. Plus we'd need a bigger place.
It's sad. =(
We were going to wait. But we don't see our situation improving significantly anytime soon. So we're going to go ahead. It will be tight but we'll make it work. DH just graduated from law school. We can only go up from here we figure. (knock on wood - haha)
He's working temp jobs and can always go back to the police department if he doesn't have something permanent soon.
We're waiting. We saved up money for me to stay home for a while, but I absolutely have to go back to work next year when Kate turns 2. I'm a teacher so we have to make a decision for the whole year and we have to decide by March or April if I'm going back to work the following August. Sadly, I don't see our finances changing drastically by March.
We just can't afford 2 in day care, at least not the places that I would want to send them. Plus, we had to do IF treatments to get pregnant the first time and we can't afford to do treatments this time until I go back to work. It looks like we'll be waiting until Kate is in kindergarden or first grade. (We're planning on sending her to a montessori preschool and I'm trying to convince DH to leave her there through K.)
It sucks. I want another one NOW! Plus, my mom is getting on my case about how I don't want them that far apart. Well, no I don't but unless you are going to start subsidizing our lifestyle stop nagging me.
We aren't planning on trying again until June 2011, but I am kind of freaking out about that. We have a lot of debt to pay off. This year has not been the best year for us financially and we have been hit pretty hard. I will def need a bigger car when we have a second child because one car seat just barely fits in there. There is no way we coud fit two in there. It would be nice to also get a bigger house. I know I have a couple months here to improve things, but it is hard to think we are really going to be ready to do all that in just a couple months unless DH gets a real big client really soon!
